To develop a more in-depth understanding of numerical calculation, highlighting the properties of algorithms: stability, convergence, error analysis and efficiency.

Knowledge:

• Approximation of functions and data.
• Integration of multivariable functions.
• Zeros and extreme values of multivariable functions.
• Numerical linear algebra.

Subject-specific competences:

• To analyse numerical methods.
• To select an appropriate algorithm and adapt it to a given problem.
• To implement algorithms in a programming language.
• To understand a numerical package, being able to use it and interpret the results.
