Presentation

The Doctorate in Mathematics contains a set of activities that provide an advanced training and a research period that leads to write a doctoral thesis in one of the research areas of the doctorate. Each student has a supervisor who controls the process, certifies the educational activities and supervises the research.

It is included in the Programa Oficial de Postgrau of the Faculty of Mathematics with the participation of the three departments of the Faculty: Àlgebra i Geometria, Matemàtica Aplicada i Anàlisi, and Probabilitat, Lògica i Estadística.

The doctorate is the result of the adaptation to the new Spanish regulations of postgraduate studies of the former Doctorate in Mathematics, in the form of DEA, and inherits the quality Award Mención de Calidad given by the Spanish official agency ANECA in 2004 and renewed in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
